Within the Media Business Unit, the Rogers Media Digital Content & Publishing team is looking for a strategic and creative individual to manage and build the Facebook presence across the breadth of our Media Brands. Reporting to the Director, Social Media & 3rd Party Platforms , the Social Media Manager for Facebook will work cross-functionally with Editorial, Marketing, Product and Insights to grow and engage audiences on Facebook for beloved Canadian brands like Maclean’s, Today’s Parent, Flare and Chatelaine.
What you will be doing:
Grow Audiences & Monetization Opportunities
Establish key social metrics and strategies that align to business goals – driving revenue and audience growth
Use social-platform expertise to scale and grow each brand’s social presence and engagement through a paid, owned and earned media lens
Align monetization efforts across editorial and sales, ensuring effective execution of revenue opportunities
Content Analysis & Platform Management
Consistently provide best-in-class strategic recommendations on content, distribution and expansion opportunites to position media brands as leaders within the Facebook environment
Ensure effective roll-out and evaluation of of new platform capabilities and betas
Monitor competitor activity, and using our suite of analytic tools provide recommendations around optimization of content frequency, formats, and topics to deepen audience engagement and reach to gain market share
Manage user access, governance, account creation & updates of all platforms and tools include Facebook Business Manager, CrowdTangle and Hootsuite
Optimize for Social Media Results
Establish and track KPIs, facilitating ongoing discusions with edit leads and marketing team on recommendations and actions to achieve objectives
Communicate and engage on an ongoing basis with editorial to highlight opportunities
Deliver training and education on Facebook best practices to ensure best in class executions
Understand Facebook paid spend management and FB business manager account, contributing expertise on paid spend optimization as required
What you have:
A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years experience in social, digital marketing, digital media or digital agency
Proven track record of working in highly collaborative environments, managing people and processes across multiple stakeholders, businesses and processes at a large company
Existing relationship with social media platforms and clear knowledge of emerging technologies, platforms and their benefits to business
Strong understanding of the native social media platforms publishing, analytics and ads capabilities as well as third party vendors such as Hootsuite, Crowdtangle, etc.
Proven ability in strategic development and successful delivery on strategic social plans
Strong analytical background with solid level of understanding of the social analytics that drive loyalty, ROI and build brands
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communications and presentation skills.
